Ruthie's mom, Becca, dropped Ruthie off on Tuesday morning for her first day of school! Ruthie settled right into Room 3 and even made it to the hallway for the Mardi Gras Day Parade presented by Rooms 11&12. So game, so brave! We are so glad you have joined us Ruthie! Today, Walker had his first day! His Mom, Ellie, dropped him off and he too, got right to work! Walker lived up to his name and made it to all corners of the classroom. He was quick to watch new friends and hustle over to all rounds of music. We are so happy that you have come to Room 3 Walker! *** The first week back after break is always a little whirl-windy, but even so, spirits seem high. After looking closely at documentation of December and tracking the different threads of interest, we have found that the dominant idea that moves through all the rest, is relationships. All of the children seem invested in building, understanding, navigating relationships- to the environment, to materials, to their new skills, but most of all to their peers! We adapted the environment, making more clear space for big play and a couple of smaller places for more intimate play, that will hopefully foster interactions. Looking forward to see what the Spring brings! *** And the nap mat transition has begun! Again, this is the long game/will take some time and everyone will have their own timing and way to get there, but day two- so far, so good :)
