HELLOO!
Happy Tuesday! We hope everyone is staying cool in this summer sun! Room 7 loves the outdoors and soaking up all the sun we can get, so we have been doing lots of water play and taking lots of long walks around the neighborhood. We wanted to get outside today like usual, but it was way too toasty to walk or hang out on the Toddler Play Yard. We decided we needed a place where we could run, dig, play, be outside ... but in the comfort of the shade. Sounded like a trip to the Garden to us! Now that our friends in Room 7 are becoming toddlers, we have many opportunities to explore more spaces within our school -- the garden being one of those places! It has sand, it has dirt, it has grass, it has bugs! There are grapes growing on vines, a swing to relax on, and trucks zooming by! We explored and explored the Garden today and then also ended up bringing out some markers and paper so we could take our relaxing Garden trip to the next level! Check out our photos below!

Today was full of joyful exploration as we dug in the sand and played in the water. The children combined the two elements to create a river, watching in delight as it flowed through their carefully carved channels. There was splashing, dumping, and lots of laughter as they tested out ideas and worked together. We celebrated small discoveries, how the sand changed texture when wet, how the water found its own path, and we wondered together about where rivers start and where they go. It was a day of curiosity, collaboration, and the simple magic of sand and water. We used to be the littlest ones,
Crawling slow and chasing sun. Now we’re walking, strong and proud, With giggles that are really loud! We go to the door each day, Ready, steady—off to play! The wind is warm, the grass is wide, Our tiny feet go stomp outside. We fall, we laugh, we climb, we share. We push wagons, dig in sand, And hold each other’s little hands. We’re learning words like "no" And how to take things kind of slow. With each day bringing something fresh and new. We're growing fast, but one thing’s true: It’s always more fun with friends like you! Hello, Room 7 and families! Happy Tuesday! What a beautiful, warm day we're having! We really wanted to get outside and enjoy this nice weather we've had all day so we made a plan to take a walk! We love our walks! Our friends in Room 6 (our vestibule neighbors) had low numbers in their class today so they joined us on our walk. Room 6 friends and Room 7 friends have been getting close and even held hands most of the time we were outside exploring. On our walks, we love going to look at the construction on 19th Street and the construction workers always give us such friendly hello's! Some of the passing construction vehicles even honked their horns for us! On our way back towards the school, we stopped close to our favorite park -- Primos Park -- and got to run around in the grass, pick dandelions, and wave to passing trucks and cars. What a great day! Check out the photos from our day below! ;) It was a short but packed week! We spent most of our time outside. The walks have been a JOY themselves and they make coming back to the classroom a welcome reprieve from the sun. Monday's most exciting news was a baby bunny in the yard "Bunny" "Hug?" - Rosa And to the Construction site on 19th... And then out of the strollers for some run-around at the park! And then back to school, lunch and play!
In the Toddler Yard, they start their day, Ready to learn through hands-on play. Comfort grows with every turn-- In this wide world, there’s much to learn. They love to push the red wagons around, Rolling through grass, over bumpy ground. Filling them up with all they can find-- Toy trucks, leaves, and dirt combined. In the sand, it’s dig, dig, dig, With little hands and a plastic rig. They scoop it up, then let it fall, Watching as it slips through all. Water play brings squeals and cheer, As splashes echo far and near. Playing with containers, And watering the plants like garden braves. With shoes kicked off and fingers wet, They’re not quite done exploring yet. They play with joy that hardly peaks. They’re finding comfort, space, and voice, In every tiny, wobbly choice. With wagons, water, dirt, and sand-- They’re learning life with heart in hand. Tuesday and Wednesday we spent a little bit of time in our classroom...but most of our time out- outside in the yard, in the garden, on a walk, at the park, in the theater... Here we REALLY liked Maya's tunnel, Isabella's shoes, and all the balls-but especially the blue bumpy one.
Out here, it was HOT! and the water felt good, but it was a little unpredictable. We took it slow, dabbled in the sprinklers and splashed a bit in the tubs, and watched the bigger kids' water moves. We also visited our old fence! The walk to the park was easy breezy and the grass so cool. We ran a lot, chased Lily, got caught by Lily and sang songs. Super nice times at Primos Park.
Today, our toddlers had their very first adventure in the Garden — and what a beautiful experience it was! From the moment they stepped outside, their natural curiosity came to life.
Some children were drawn to the water, fascinated by the flow as they reached out their hands to feel the cool water. Others discovered the joy of sound, experimenting with the outdoor chimes and watching their movements as they touched them. There were moments of quiet observation and swinging with their teacher Maya. Every inch of the garden became a new world to explore: textures to feel, sounds to hear, spaces to crawl, climb, and wonder. It’s amazing how much learning happens through play, especially in nature. These early outdoor moments spark imagination, build confidence, and help children feel more connected to the world around them. We look forward to many more garden adventures as the seasons unfold! Hello, hello to Room 7 and all of our new Room 7 families! Happy Thursday! What a fun day we've had! Due to our lower numbers in this summer session as well as the beautiful sunny afternoon we had, we thought it would be a great idea to take our friends on a walk to the wonderful Primos Park! The children enjoyed a nice and breezy stroller ride to the park, where they got to wave to big trucks and buses passing by. We love waving to vehicles, people, birds, and trees! "Hi, bus!" "Hi, tree! Bye, tree!" Primos Park has a beautiful open space where the children can run around and go up and down grassy hills. We found lots of dandelions to collect and even spotted some bugs! Primos Park also has a really serene trail surrounded by tall, tall grass - it was almost like we were exploring the jungle! We walked the whole path and got to balance on big, fallen trees! We even went over a log bridge! We saw so many things on this walk and really felt the nature all around us. It was also our longest walk yet! Yay to becoming toddlers! We cannot wait for our next walk :) Below is a slideshow from our day!! |
