Today was filled with curiosity, connection, and play! We spent time looking out the window, chatting with our toddler friends, and exploring how things work—figuring out how tops go on and off and how pieces fit together. We built towers just to knock them down, read books, danced, played the drums, and climbed. Hide and seek brought lots of laughter, and throughout it all, we discovered, experimented, and enjoyed each other's company. What a wonderful day!

We in Room 3 are finding that ball play is one of our most versatile and fun ways to come into relationship with each other. This morning such play kept showing up in all of our environments: On the mats... In the cube... In the theater, and with some ups and downs... and outdoors... And when not playing ball we were... packing it in before a break... We look forward to more soon.
Happy days! Our day was full of: stacking, inspecting and tumbling over........ .....Music, songs, and dancing....... ......Mark making, experimenting, observing, and testing......... ...... watching, listening, interpreting, and cuddling........... .......hiding, laughing and finding..... ......and discovering.
The wind is wild, the trees all sway, As children laugh and chase their play. Leaves go dancing, swirling high, Spinning, twirling through the sky. Tiny hands reach, the breeze takes hold, Tugging jackets, crisp and bold. Footsteps scatter, light and free, Racing whispers through the trees. The air is crisp, their cheeks turn red, Spinning, tumbling, joy widespread. On this windy, whirling day, The world is theirs in endless play. Across the Bridge – Room 2 & Room 3
A little one sits, eyes open wide, Clutching a ball, curious inside. Before them, an arch, a world so new, Glittering discs, reflections in view. Beneath that bridge, a wiser guide, Crawling close, arms open wide. A friend from Room 3, older, bold, Sharing wonders, hands that hold. The youngest watches, learns, and tries. Room 2, so small, yet eager to be, Room 3, a path to all they will see. Side by side, they reach and grow, Hand in hand, through play, they know. A bond unspoken, hearts entwined, A friendship formed, a space so kind. For in this pod, they laugh and see, The magic of Room 2 and Room 3. As the class grows in age and size, we make sure that we have opportunities for smaller group work. Today we split into two groups after morning snack. One group started inside with a chance to use markers on a projection wall, the other group started outside and did some serious ball play, tractor work, and dirt digging. After about 30 minutes we switched! Here is some documentation of Room 3 at work and play! Early literacy exposure is essential for young children old because it lays the foundation for language development, cognitive growth, and social-emotional connections. Even before they can speak, infants absorb the rhythm, sounds, and patterns of language through hearing stories, songs, and conversations. Reading together fosters bonding, strengthens listening skills, and builds vocabulary, helping babies make sense of the world around them. Engaging with books, through looking, touching, and even mouthing, also supports sensory exploration and early comprehension. These early experiences create positive associations with reading, setting the stage for lifelong learning and communication skills. On Tuesday we welcomed Jahzara, and her parents Justin and Johni, to Room 3! Jahzara jumped right in and her peers showed her around. She especially took to the ball play, And found many like-minded humans who appreciate filling and dumping materials in and out of containers. Welcome Jahzara, we are excited to get to know you! A few more snippets of the days- Lots of ball play and stacking and fitting. The sun peeked through the clouds as we ran outside, ready for adventure. The playground stretched before us, filled with possibilities. First, we conquered the big hill, climbing to the top like explorers reaching a mountain peak. Then, with squeals of excitement, we slid down the tunnel, giggling as we landed at the bottom. Just when we thought the fun couldn't get any better, our friends from Room 15 arrived, carrying a big basket of balls. We rolled them, tossed them, and chased them across the yard, laughing as they bounced in every direction. We built towers with wooden tree blocks, knocked them down, and built again. We waved and said hi to friends passing by. The chimes called to us, and we crawled over, shaking them to hear their beautiful sounds. Then, a new game began—"Vroom vroom!" we shouted, pretending to drive the big tractor across the playground, steering with determination. As the morning went on, we sang songs together, our voices floating in the air like a joyful melody. The playground was our world, full of laughter, movement, and friends. And when it was time to go inside, we knew one thing for sure—we couldn't wait to do it all again tomorrow! |
